Meet the owners, Vernon and Sueann Myers!
Vernon Myers
Before opening A Caring Hand Medical Adult Day Care, Vernon attended certificate programs for heating and air conditioning, and automotive repair. He worked in various automotive repair shop to include jobs such as service advisor and shop foreman. Vernon also obtained a Commercial Drivers License and operated tractor trailers. These experiences gave Vernon the knowledge to oversee transportation and building maintenance. Vernon has continued his education by taking business finance and health administration courses. Prior to opening A Caring Hand Medical Adult Day Care, Vernon received ServSafe certification, giving him the ability to operate a commercial kitchen. As the owner of A Caring Hand Medical Adult Day Care, Vernon oversees all of the financial and operational procedures for the business. Vernon has been the backbone of this facility and enjoys the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the clients he serves and the employees he hires.
Sueann Myers
Sueann is a Registered Nurse with more than 15 years of experience. Sueann started her nursing career as a Certified Nursing Assistant working in nursing homes. After High School, Sueann joined the Army National Guard and became a Combat Flight Medic and EMT. While in the Army National Guard, Sueann attended the Johnston School of Practical Nursing and obtained her LPN License. While working in nursing homes as an LPN, she continued her education and attended the Union Memorial Hospital School of Nursing where she obtained her RN License. After receiving her RN License and experiencing many roles in the nursing homes she worked in, Sueann felt that the quality of care given was underprovided and believed that there could be better options for patients in these facilities. Therefore, Sueann attended seminars on how to open a Medical Adult Day Care. After working in an Adult Day Care setting, Sueann felt that she was ready to open her own facility with the help of her husband, Vernon Myers.
Our Facilities
Vernon and Sueann opened their first facility A Caring Hand Medical Adult Day Care, in February 2004. September 2014, they have opened a second facilty, Another Caring Hand Medical Adult Day Care.
